Turning Data Into a Public Symbol
”Stop violence in Belarus” media stand in Barcelona
Working with Belarusian organizations and Barcelona City Hall, this multimedia information stand appeared in the city center to explain the Belarus protest situation for an international audience. The centerpiece was a raised fist built from 15,000+ silhouettes of arrested people, turning scale into something instantly understandable. The design had to work in a street setting: legible from a distance, readable fast, and emotionally direct without losing factual clarity.
The fist operates as both metaphor and data. Each silhouette is an individual element, but together they form a collective image that communicates the idea of shared resistance. The information structure supports quick scanning, so people can grasp the message in seconds and still discover more context if they stop.
