Mapping Relict Wetlands for Conservation
Information design for APB BirdLife
I designed an outdoor information stand for APB BirdLife Belarus to be installed in relict wetlands in southern Belarus. The challenge was extreme information density: text, data visualizations, a detailed terrain map, and eco-behavior rules had to stay readable and usable for people standing on the route. I built a strict hierarchy and a map-centered layout that helps visitors orient quickly, then dive into the details.
A big part of the work was cartography. Some of the source information wasn’t available digitally, so I digitized and transferred data from printed sources to create a coherent, accurate map that integrates cleanly with the rest of the design.
